Social platforms are notoriously secretive about their users – in fact, it’s easier to find out Kim Jong Un’s shoe size than get stats from WhatsApp about how many users they have in Australia. Datafication is part of The Works’ continued commitment to understanding how the Australian social media landscape works. We do this to have a better understanding of how Australians use social media rather than relying on stats about the US or UK.
Well into our sixth year, Datafication is now focusing on the rise of messaging apps, it’s been a quiet revolution and we are pretty excited what we will be sharing on this topic in the coming months.

The Works, together with their start up agency On Message, have been working with Brand Data Scientist, Dr. Suresh Sood, from University of Technology Sydney to bring you this year’s study.
